I spotted a wee blog recently whilst doing some tangential clicking, and have been sent some gorgeous wee glass bottles. Not really sure what I am going to use them for – yet! Any suggestions?

I could actually wee…..

As I took along my swop to go in the post, I picked this parcel up too. All the worry and late nights are now worth while… I did have a sneaky thought – I could open everything, but take pics of it all packaged up and pretend every day next week, but that is hardly in the spirit is it? I have tried to get onto flickr today but it isnt playing ball right now, so will try again later.

Hope you are all having an exciting Friday?

I can’t help myself.

I came across it quite by accident and now I just can’t stop. One hit after another after another. Its so addictive. And so retro. And so satisfying.

Nope, not crack.

Hill Street feckin Blues. I used to watch it with my mum way back in the day and never really got any of it but loved that it was so adult. But now I get all the racist comments and the sexist overtones, the sexual chemistry and the anti-semitic lines. A lot of it deals with prejudices – hipanic, sexist, racsit, gangs, prostitutes, homophobia…

Channel 4 on demand have all 7 seasons. I am up to Episode 38. One before work one at lunch and as many as I can hack at night while I have been crafting. I am struggling to write this and not just have one going in the corner of my screen. I LOVE BROADBAND.

Belker is probably my favourite character “Hi ma!” and “Dogbreath” probably being his two famous catch phrases. He is wee and gruff, but a softy. He drinks sardine milkshakes and eats anything pickled, but be-friends a rent boy and loves his Mommy.

It also balances out my new crush which is Glee. I know I shouldn’t like it, but….

So I have two swops ongoing. I got drawn twice for the seven days of specialness swop. once with penny and once with rachel. so I am doing 1-7th with rachel then 8-14th with penny which nicely coincides with her birthday and valentines day.

I am trying to do at least one hand made thing in each swop. coming up with a theme was easy enough for Penny. I did some more research on rachel last night and she has taken part in some amazing swaps so there is no point getting my knickers in a twist. I have some serious knitting to do this week to get everything ready to post on friday. luckily I am have a knitting night round at my friends house tonight but knowing us there will be so much chat I am in danger I’d dropping a lot of stitches ! I also managed to bag a badge maker at the local charity shop so I hoping to master that over the weekend too. that could be a wee lifesaver.

I wish I wish I wish I had already bought my wee sewing machine, and I could whip up some cute wee drawstring bags or something. I finished a wee project last night that I will def be making again for gifts for other people but more of that after the 7th! also a bit of a learning curve. I started it half a dozen times. and I was determined the pattern was wrong. but obviously it was human error at fault!

I am writing this in bongos, my current favourite local soft play. I say local, it is in Glenrothes so about a 50 mile round trip. first we went to the cinema for kids club. full. then we went to playplanet. full. this was our last chance on a dull cold and rainy January Saturday. we will do some baking when we get home, so I can take some things rounds to lesleys tonight and tire Her out enough the He can have an easy babysitting session. (I still don’t think you can call it babysitting if it is your own child!)

So apparently the 5 second rule has been given the all clear to be changed to the 30 second rule. But if you are still not sure, you can use this chart. The 30-Second Rule, A Decision Tree by Audrey Fukman and Andy Wright.

Funny.

In an effort to shift some weight (knitting isn’t going to cut it) I went to Circuit training tonight.

The first bad bad sign was the sheer amount of Running Club Tshirts being worn. Not good, not good at all.

It was hard going, and I was shamefully unfit but I kept going all the way through but was so glad when it finished. Scarily though, 3 hours later, my face is still red, maybe I pushed it a little hard. But the most humiliating thing was the 70 year old man who kept giving me tips and then, lapped me.

When I came home I decided to have a go at a knitalong. I had been lurking at Kris knits, and saw this one which seem kind of manageable, and with a bit of luck, I might be able to gift it as part of my swop? Krisknits creates amazing pictures, this one is currently a mystery still to be revealed…

Put half a pound on this week…. dammit!!!

When at the weigh in and looked dumbfounded, then I recalled all the londor lindt chocolate eggs (3) i had consumed…., and the fact that no matter how good houmous might seem, it is not. And also just discovered that the Seseame Snaps I have become addicted too are packed full of calories. But they are sold in health food shops, how can they be FATTENING????

grrrrrrrrr

So I am going to circuit training tonight. Someone mentioned it included skipping, which sounded fun, but it actually turns out to sound quite frightening! I hope I can survive. In a further attempt to get moving more, I have signed up for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Swimathon – a 5km swim on the local pool, which I will do with the help of my friend Jake – 100 lengths each. I have been overwhelmed with the amount of sponsorship my friends have donated, it is clearly a great cause that touches a lot of people. Thought we might get a fiver here and there, but have raised £150 so far! If you fancy:

Still, steaming on with swap preparations. Trying out some new crafty knitting projects for this, trial and error is the key phrase here. Really looking forward to getting it all in the post!

My friend Laurie who came to visit brught me Clemintine cake and Clementine curd, but she didnt take any pics. I did – but with my phone, but I thought she would appreciate the collaboration that she did infact not only MAKE but also GIFTED these wonderful delights.

My Nev actually uttered the immortal words “Annie, I think she has out-Nigella-ed you this time”

So somehow I managed to lose a pound over Christmas. My last weigh in was on the 20th Dec and I had put a pound on. So quietly content with staying about the same and without feeling like a food martyr. Back on the wagon now so hopefully will continue to lose.

We also got Sky Plus, for my Christmas present! It is amazing, but I havent been able to abuse it properly as I have had work to do every evening this week, so looking forward to pausing rewinding nad playing live telly at the weekend – it boggles my mind!
